I was born into a good traditional Chinese family. Being the eldest in the family, I grew up being the most well-liked among my family members including my grandfather. I was given practically everything that I wanted. Thus, I cultivated a habit of asking for every single thing because I knew it will come my way.

Furthermore, I grew up being stubborn and rebellious. I will fight to get hold of everything even though I do not need those things. I would talk back whenever I am being scolded. Things got worse as I continue to grow. During my times in primary 4 to secondary 5, I was out all days with my so-called best friends wandering the streets. We were not involved in secret societies but the things we did were bad enough. We stole from departmental stores, football jerseys, branded clothing and many more. We hung around billiards salons all day long. Soon we got ourselves into smoking but I managed to quit it before I got addicted.

Things at home were also not getting any better. During my O-levels period, my father decided to leave the family and follow his mistress. The whole family was devastated. I could not concentrate on my studies for my O-levels. Instead, I spent long hours playing games and hanging around at lan-gaming centers. Soon I bear a strong hatred for my father. I began to curse and swear for any misfortune that will befall him.

Not long after, I got my O-levels results, I did not make it to the polytechnic because my grades were simply not good enough. I blamed my dad for my failure. I told myself I will never forgive him. Left with no choice, I reluctantly enrolled myself into ITE. It was a place I dreaded.

But I never knew that at ITE, it will be a place where I am going to prosper. I was doing fairly well in my first semester and I thought it must be a fake. By then, a stranger came along. He is someone I met over the internet. He is also a student at the ITE I am studying at. So we decided to meet up. After a long chat in school, he popped the question asking me to go to church with him. I rejected him immediately. Anyway, he did not give up but I gave up and decided to follow him to church after a rejection of three times.

So there I was, stepping into church for the first time. It was City Harvest Church. It was so different from the way I thought it was going to be. The building was awesome. During service, everyone was so different. They were all jumping and singing happily. I asked myself, did I come to the right place? Is church really like this? Nevertheless, I was touched and I still remembered Pastor Kong’s preaching on God’s blessings moved me to tears. At the end of the service, I gave my heart to Jesus.

My life became more vibrant. I began to feel all the changes in me gradually. I stopped wandering around and doing time-wasting stuff. I also started to study more and one day, I found my purpose while doing my own prayer with God. I wanted to study until I get my degree and to earn as much money as possible to support my family. At this point, I also decided that I shall not bear any more hatred for my father so I prayed for healing of my heart.

As my walk with God matured, I also grew to become more and more on fire for God. As for my studies, I completed my ITE course by topping my class and in the top 5% in the course in the whole of Singapore. At the same time, I was awarded the most Outstanding Counsellor in the Students’ Council for my cohort.

Even when I was in the army, God never stopped blessing me. I was given a lot of respect and recognition by my superiors. I became someone that they can trust upon to deliver the results. At the end of my BMT, I was given a leadership position. I began to lead together with my superiors and many of them were surprised at my leadership skills. I believe that everything I do, it is from God.

Today, not only am I a polytechnic graduate, I am also on my way to fulfill my dream of completing my degree. God had changed me tremendously over these past eight years. Never a day, I am left behind by Him. I am also happily serving Him in church as a photographer, cell group guitarist and also a connect group leader. Despite the heavy load of my university program, I had the extra strength to handle multiple tasks. God indeed has expanded my capacity to serve Him the way He loves me to.

Furthermore, with prayers, I had long forgiven my dad and he had also returned home earlier this year. In additional, my sister had also given her heart to Jesus. God had turned my family around. The Bible says that when one in the household is saved, everyone will be saved. Right now, I am believing for the salvation of my whole family.

Looking back, I believed that without God, I would not be who I am today. I want to thank all my past leaders who relentlessly showered their prayers upon me through my hard times, the friend that brought me to church (and he is still in church together, in fact, I am going to be his best man at his wedding next year), my friends around me who never stopped encouraging me and of course my pastors who always taught us to live life the righteous way. And last but not least, the most important person in my life, that is the Lord Jesus Christ for giving me a second chance to live. Amen.

Way of Escape

Circumstances, Situations, Mountains, Valleys, Hurt, Bitterness, Agony etc..
All these words are what we hear from churchs, sermons..
Does this mean that God is not a good God? Definitely not.
Does this mean that God let these happen? Perhaps, to make us stronger.
Does this mean that these are from the devil? Perhaps, to put us down.

Marvin shared in CGM that even if we are going through darkness and we feel that theres no way out, God will lead us..(It touched me..) and I started to think about how my life has changed BECAUSE of God.

I definitely have my fair share of experiences and hurt (from family and friends) but it is really God who made everything possible for me.

Let my testimony speak it all..

I came from a good family and I always have everything that I wanted. However, things changed when my mother sunk into depression when I was in Primary 5. I lost interest in my studies, and the following year, I got transferred out from the first class. Thus, this has caused me to feel even more intimidated whenever I am with my friends. I would often hang around the neighborhood and not go home because I was really afraid of my mother.

I tried many ways to seek love. I was already attending a temple but I started to be more committed and attended dharma classes. This went on for a total of 6 years. However, everything seemed like a routine to me, it was like a timetable that I had to follow. I lived life without a purpose and a vision. I still did not put in any effort in my studies; I did not know the reason behind studying at all. Hence, constant failures academically made me full of fear and low self-esteem. My friends rejected me, causing hatred and bitterness to grow within me. In the midst of all that, I went through 9 relationships and even resorted to self-mutilating myself by using a penknife to slit my wrists and even using heels to cut my thighs until it bled.

It was only in December 2003, my life took a change. My friend, Chuan Zhu invited me to a zone event after months of persistence. It was at the meeting that I realized a different spirit in the people. They are warm, sincere and friendly. I felt that they really care for me. Not long, I decided to join them in service back at the Jurong West premises. Then, in one of the services when Pastor Tan preached and ministered, I felt the presence of God and gave my life to Jesus Christ. That was when I felt that life has got a meaning and a purpose. Amen!

After I gave my heart to Jesus, I started to attend cell group and service regularly. I became on fire for the Lord. On Easter 2004, I brought a total of 18 friends to church in spite of the persecution that I was facing at home. That Saturday Easter night, I was been caned by an umbrella. However, I chose to stand strong in my faith and ran out to attend Sunday service and a miracle happened! My parents did not scold me at all. From that day, my parents no longer objected me from going to church. As I started attending bible study and applying the word of God, God started to do a work in me. First, He dealt with my emotions and I felt accepted in His presence. I decided to let go of the bitterness inside of me and I saw a change in my character slowly. I started to receive visions from God. I wanted to be a leader who can impact people. That gave me a sense of purpose. First, I started to serve actively in Usher Ministry and help out in my cell group. That helped me to discover my leadership qualities that I’ve never realized. Indeed helping people gave me great satisfaction. Today, I am a CG leader serving in the kingdom of God, Hallelujah!

Apart from that, I want to see my family saved. Like what the bible says, “When one is saved, the whole household will be saved”. God has showered me with His grace to reach out to my brother who is now actively serving the Lord as an usher. Although, my mother is not saved but she is open and is opening doors for us to reach out to our neighbors by encouraging them to attend church with us.

Indeed God is good. Besides giving me a chance to live again, He gave me a purpose and I became a more confident and happy person.

I would not have been where I am today without our Lord Jesus. I want to thank God for everything! Hallelujah!

In 1994, Woman's liberation was founded by a group of women who feel that they can do better than man. They begin to take away their bra as a sign to show to people that they can be like a man and also do what a man does.

Pastor was sharing with us that "IF CHANGE DOES NOT COME TO THE TOP VOLUNTARILY, IT WILL TAKE PLACE FROM THE BOTTOM BY REVOLUTION."

Normally u see a woman tend to be a man, they tend to over exaggerate themselves. The only way you can change society coporately is by changing man individually.

Adam allowed Eve to sin and he never stop it. This is sin of omission. It is what Adam fail to stop Eve to stop eating the fruits that cause sin to enter the world.

Genesis 38- Judah has three sons. It was er, Onan and Shelah. Er was the husband of Tamar and because Er was wicked in the sight of the Lord, he died. Onan who was the second son was given to Tamar but he was killed as well because he failed to take responsibility of his own action. He just want to have the pleasure. Both of them do not take responsibility over the calling of God. Then Judah told Tamar to wait until Shelah has grown up then he will be given to her. But when Shelah grow up, it was not given to her. Tamar was angry that she went to Timah (red light district area) to cover herself with a veil. She lower herself until she has to manipulate Judah in order to get what she wants...

So what can be draw from this biblical example? That God wants every Man to rise up in every occasion and be the one that leads woman to the visions of God and to start impacting society and making things happen. There is one verse that we should know which is " WE CAN BE MALE BY BIRTH, MAN BY CHOICE". We either choose to be a man taking responsibility or remaining as a male all the days of our life.

~Our Love for God~
Our faith in God should not be an "I do for God so God will do for me" relationship. We should not love God for what He can give us or for what we can get out of Him. Instead, we should love God for who He is now and what He has already done for us by sending Christ into the world to die for us.

Many people expect their faith in God to have some kind of payoff. They expect God to deliver whatever they want or need because they believe in Him. Expecting God to deliver what we want as a result of our faith is a selfish faith. As true believers of a positive, living God we are called to be selfless in giving, selfless in spirit, and selfless in love. A valid question to ask is "Shouldn't faith in God and faith in Christ result in 'something' for me? Shouldn't I expect a payoff from God?" Yes, we should all expect something from our faith, but this "something" is not a thing of this world. What we truly expect should be the working of God in our life…the often invisible, intangible, internal, and eternal working of God called love.

Yufen, myself (Liz) and Hexing popped by at Marvin's house on Monday night to surprise him. Well, i was personally surprised to see him without his hair. Oops! We got him a cap and a cute little card. Serve the nation well, Marvin!

God of This City

We had been singing the song titled God of This City, in church for the past weeks. The lyrics is awesome isn't it. I looked up onto the Internet and found out more about this song. Where and why it was written.

Where? Thailand. Bluetree, the original composer of the song was ministering in Thailand. Think again? Thailand? By the way, if you do not know before, 98% of Thailand's population is Buddhist. How was it possible for our God to move? Certainly, He can. The song was not pre-written but was instead sang out by Bluetree during ministry time. God's presence filled the pub - a strip bar. Awesome as it can get, anointing fell upon them and the song was written and sealed.

Why? If God can move in such a ground like Thailand, He can do it anywhere. Our city, my city but ultimately, it's His city. Bluetree went back to Northern Ireland and immediately, penned down and recorded the song for it was certainly a divine intervention. God is doing a work in Thailand.

And thus, as I was worshiping God in my own quiet time this few days, I just sank into this song. God's presence never fail to fill my room. It was so intense that I did not know it was past 3am for the past two days. I just want to share that, greater things in our life has yet to come and greater things will certainly come your way, friends. He's our Provider and as you began to realize what God is about to do for you, you're going to be awe-struck cos' nothing is too great for Him.

I sensed in my heart that God is moving me towards my goal. Be it now or later, I am ready as I commuted with God in tears. Friends, are you ready to heed the call of God? Wait no more, call out to Him today.

Go to the Right Person

'...WE ARE HIS PEOPLE, THE SHEEP HE TENDS.' PSALM 100:3

Like sheep, most of our wounds come from living in the pasture. Thorns
prick. Rocks cut. Heads butt. Mosquitoes bite. So our Shepherd regularly
inspects His sheep searching for wounds. That's because He doesn't want
today's wound to become tomorrow's infection. Hence, David writes,
'...we are His people, the sheep He tends.' Others may guide us to God,
but no one does the work of God, for only God can heal. He 'heals the
brokenhearted...' (Psalm 147:3 NIV). So, your first step is to go to the
right person; go to God. Your second step is to assume the right
posture; bow before God. To be anointed with the oil that heals and
protects, the sheep must stand still, lower its head and let the shepherd

do his work.

Peter writes, 'Be humble under God's powerful hand so He will lift you up

when the right time comes' (1 Peter 5:6 NCV). When we come to God we

make requests, not demands. We state what we want, but we pray for

what's right. Like Paul, if God gives us the prison in Rome instead of the

mission in Spain, we accept it because we know God will always give what

is right to His people (See Luke 18:7 NCV). Now, the sheep don't understand

how the oil repels mosquitoes or heals wounds. In fact, all the sheep know is

that something happens in the presence of their shepherd, that doesn't happen

anywhere else. And that's all we need to know as well. Hence David writes,
'Lord, I give myself to You; my God, I trust You...' (Psalm 25:1-2 NCV).

Isaiah 40:29

He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Human naturally have weakness in our life because of the fallen nature of the earth. When we come before God, we need to identify our weakness with God as He is able to gives us power to do things that are impossible. In order to come before God, we need to humble ourselves and know that we have weakness in our life. We do not reply on our own human strength to press on, to endure because we will be exhausted. The bible also says that "even youth shall faint and be weary". You know that youth like us have lots of strength and energy. We will be on fire for God.We need to know the fact that we are on this earth facing all the trials in our life. Things may not go smoothly and we will be easily tired. But the bible says " But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength". We need to be patient and calm. It is the delay that God sees the longsuffering attitude in our life that He blesses us abundantly. He renews our strength constantly as we wait on Him, crying out for His everlasting love. As we regian the strength that we have in our life, we shall once again mount up with wings like eagle. We will start flying. We will have all the strength to overcome the opposition of the world just like how the eagle overcome the resistance of air and start flying.

Servanthood

Genesis 24:16- illustrate about God's love for us
If You have a joyful spirit, you will begin to look radiant on the inside out.
The church is about people too. The church that love people look energetic and sharp
Although Rebbecca was rich, she did not choose to be egoistic but choose to be servant of all.

7 Qualities of servanthood

1) Servanthood is WILLING
Genesis 24:18-19
There is no complaining in her. She is ever willing to serve. Serving is an issue of your heart. She is not trying to impress anybody.
1 Peter 5:2- Genuine serving is born out of the love of God.
Willingness make us energetic and ethusiastic.
Fatigue always follow unwillingness.
Energy always follow willingness.
When our action are backout by a willingness attitude, our energy comes. And we begin to build a foundation of success if we are willing.
Genesis 24:58-God is lloking for willing people.
Psalm 110:3
When we are willing, God will begin to move in revival power.
Promotion comes to the willing

When God bless us, God always bless us exceedingly above all we ask or think. Sometimes we set limits or a ceilinh for ourselves. God say we can do it because the bible says that nothing is impossible for those who believe.
" Excellence " means exceedingall expectations!
" Excellence " is the attention given to details that leads to superior performance.
3) Servanthood is SWIFT

4) Servanthood is NEVER CONVENIENT
A servant serve at all times

Always take care of others first before you take care of yourselves.
Serving God will eat into your time. Those are the time where your genuine servanthood is shown.
5) Servanthood is HONORING
She treat people with respect.
The body language and the facial expression tells us if we treat people with respect.
Luke 14:8- Learn to humble yourself.
A man or a woman of God must be a lover of hospitality. He/she must be a friendly and generous person
6) Servanthood is WORK
Rebecca's servanthood open a door to her destiny. With destiny, it comes prosperity and promotion.

She is willing to serve a perfect stranger. Strangers mean an outsider.

Three Things That Is Worth Living

1) Knowing God

If you know God, you know something that last eternity. Spend time, talk, and read His Word. Find out what he likes and doesn’t like. This is like building friendship with God.

2) Love people

Love has eternal value. The bible says love last forever. The way you treat people value eternity. Most of the time, we treat people based on what we value them. Jesus placed a 10/10 upon everyone.

Treat people as how Jesus would treat them. Ministry is all about people.

3) Invest your time, talent, resources in the Word of God

Eph 2:10

· Break the selfish orientation in your life.
· Serving allows you to find life.
· Begin in serving and be a blessing to people.
· You find this in giving and God will meet your needs.
· The church needs us. Don’t be a spectator but be a participator.
· What last eternity is having a relationship with God.

Growing Old And Growing Up

1 Cor 13:11-----> There is a different between childish and child-like.
· Growing older and stop being childish.
· Always keep a child-like attitude in us.
· Some people grow old but they never really grow up.
· MATURITY DOES NOT COME WITH AGE BUT WITH THE ACCEPTANCE OF RESPONSIBILITY.
· No one want to take responsibility and it starts all from the beginning of the creation of the earth. Adam and Eve start to blame instead of taking responsible of their own action and this disappoint God greatly.
· Exo 32:21
· Rom 14:12
· Just imagine a circle and we are inside the circle. Everything that is in the circle, we have control over. Out of the circle, it cannot be controlled.
· The one thing that is in the circle is us and we can control.
· What we have control for, we need to start taking responsibility as we grow up.
· Responsibility is to take control over our own life.

· Firstly, renew our mind
We cannot control thoughts in our mind. Thoughts will flood our mind and it is always swirling around. We need to take control and direct our thoughts. Ultimately, we know that thoughts shape our life. We need to remove negative thoughts one by one.
· We need to custom and put inspection in our mind.

· Secondly, our will allows us to make decisions. Our decisions we make today will shape who we are tomorrow.
· Exo 8:9-----> What is the frog in your life. Make a decisions that direct your mind. Emotions are indicator and it tells us of ou7r surface of our heart. Attend to our emotion and not be ruled by emotions.
· David says “ This is the day which the LORD has made” Therefore we should REJOICE!!!.

· Lastly, we need to discipline our body.
1 Cor 9:17----> I will make sure that I will give leadership to our body.
As we grow old, we want to grow up too. Whenw e grow up, we need to take control over our mind, our will and our physical body.
· Take responsibilities in our own attitudes and emotions.
· God wants us to be thermostat to be more proactive. Holy Spirit in us can help us make decisions.

Isaiah 40:6-8

The voice said. "Cry out!" And he said, "What shall I cry?" "All flesh is grass, And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, Because the breath of the LORD blows upon it; Surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever."

Like what the bible says that our flesh is like the grass that withers and the loveliness is like the flower of the field. It will soon fade. The grass is the platform for the flower to grow. Flower is like the loveliness of our flesh. It likes to dwell in the grass (flesh). Most of the time, we only care about ourselves. We lust for our own flesh and we walk according to the flesh and that is not what God wants. The things of the world will fade away and it will not stay long. It is only temporay. Sometimes, it may be very tempting and overwhelming and we fall for our flesh.

But those who walk according to the Spirit shall find everlasting life but those who walk according to the flesh seek for destruction upon themselves. The word of God stands forever. In the beginning, God spoke a word and the earth was formed. God spoke a word and Man was formed. Whatever God speaks, it came to past. Whatever promises that God gave, it will not return to him in void because it remains in us until it came to past. The bible says that our flesh will wither and die off and the love for our flesh will start to fade. So, how do we live in a life that is pleasing to God? It is seeking Him in our own quiet time. It is reading His Word to know more and more of Him. Reading God's word is like fellowshipping with Him because the Word was God as it is written in the Book Of John. The more we dwell in His word, the more we get to know His will for our life.

REMEMBER THAT GOD'S WORD STANDS FOREVER. EVEN IF HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS AWAY, HIS WORD WILL NOT PASS AWAY!!!!

Running the race to win

Heb 12:1-2-----> It talks about the life we are living. It is like running a race. It is not a like a short sprint. It is like a marathon. It is important how we live. God gives us purpose and life. Sometimes, we may run the race and feel tired and it’s normal for us to feel tired.

2 Tim 4:6-8-----> Paul know that his time is short but he said that he will put on a good fight. When Jesus returns, he wants to see us running the race. In our Christian walk, we may feel tired and we may lose our motivation. You know the most important point is your halfway mark. As you are in your halfway mark, you can’t see the finish line. What is the thing that keeps Paul running? He look at the prize ahead and keep on persevere and persevere until he passed that finish line.

Calvin Coolidge- Nothing in the world can take its persistence.

1 Cor 9:24-25-----> I will forget what is behind me and keep on pressing to run the race. I will continue to run to Jesus and run to the prize ahead.

1. Runners quit because they do not have enough water. They will have dehydration. It is true in our Christian walk. Sometimes, we will feel dehydrated in our walk with God and we feel dry.

2. Runners quit because they fall. Sometimes we may get hurt in the middle of the race.

3. Runners quit because they run out of energy.

4. Runners quit because they lose their visions.

5 keys to finishing the race of life

1) We should know what fills and drains our tank.

· We must be continuously be filled with the Holy Spirit and we need to keep the fill in our life.

· Some people just have nothing good to say.

· We find it hard to say to people and we get drained.

· Find something that you like that fills your soul.

· We need to recognize the things that drain us.

· We are just tank being filled with water. When we are 50% full, we will suffer from anxiety attack. When we are 25% full, we will have emotional breakdown. When we are 0%, we will have nervous breakdown.

· We know that as we go through life, there will be trial and tribulation and even temptations.

2) Understand the law of balance in life.

Daniel 5:27

There is a balance that God wants us to have. God is a God of balance. Balance is good for us.
Busyness lends a false sense of importance in our life.

When we come to God and seek first the kingdom of God, every part of our life belongs to him. Even our family, our academic, our relationship with friends, all of it belongs to God. There should not be a line of separation. Our business is God’s business. IF YOU ARE LED BY THE SPIRIT, YOU WILL BE BALANCE IN YOUR LIFE even if you focus on your studies, solve family problem and also relationship with people. As You continue to focus, we allow God to take part in our life. We do not just focus on one thing and spin one plate. We should understand the law of balance.

3) Serve and lead our of rest

The bible taught about Holy Ground. It also taught about battleground. In the battleground, we feel tired easily. That’s why God gives us Sabbath day so that we can find rest day for ourselves. The Ten Commandments is to help us.

Exo 20:10-----> Begin to increase the inflow in your life. Maybe this week, you have not exercise, we can go find days to exercise.

We need to know how to manage our life.
Psalm 127:2-----> Put that one day of rest

4) Find a lighning rod in your life. It takes the fill strike of lighning

· When we do not have anyone in our life, we will be tired. Even though we can talk to God all our problem but we are still on planet earth. We need someone to relate to. We just need to release our frustration in our life.
· Look for someone who is spiritual and share with them.
5) We have to discipline in our daily devotions.
Runners went through training. We need to build ourselves and read the Word Of God. The holy Spirit is our couch and our helper. We need to bath daily and have our spiritual devotion.
Scripture---Meditate on God’s Word. Begin to have observation about the word of God.

Prayer for our life

We should constantly renew our mind and it gives strength to our soul and also to our mind. We cannot live for the manna last week. We need to eat it EVERYDAY. Everyday, we need to have fresh touch from God. We need to have greater wisdom that we have today.

Psalms 68:19-----> Everyday in our life, God has a benefit in our life. Therefore, be discipline in whatever things you do. Discipline is the most important in our life. Everyday, we need to have the presence of God to get into the battleground and also have the anointing in our life.

The devil cut off the source of the word so that you cannot have faith that lead to life and light. The devil provides you with another word. When you have two words, you are double minded and the bible says that a double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Remember that the devil always provide the EASY WAY.

· Jesus only shows his disciples that he is going to die after his disciples receive revelation and we know that Jesus was not distracted by another word.
· Di-vision
· Two visions becomes division. One is what the devil gave you and one is what God gave you so we only need to have God’s visions.
· The life of devil only speaks of lies. Devil twist the word and allow man to fall into temptation and put you into shame and let them be afraid.
· He makes you a loser.
· As you withered away, The devil will say who do you think you are!
· Jesus says He is the vine and we are the branches.
· Be connected to God.
Matt 7:13-14The law is good. Jesus Christ fulfills the ceremonial law. We can talk about Grace but we cannot throw the Ten Commandments that lead to everlasting life.

Perseverance

2 Corinthians 4:16- Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day dy day.

Even though sometimes in the life that we live, it seems never ending. There are many challenges ahead of us. It keeps coming towards us and it has never stop. We felt so tired everyday but God says " do not lose heart". Our outward man may be perishing but we are being strengthen inwardly and renewed day by day if we start to open our mouth and start praying. We will feel so refreshed. In the spiritual realm, we will start to bear off fruits and waiting for it to ripe. When it ripe, there will be harvest in our own personal life. Like what the Bible says, look at the things which is not seen because it is eternal. The things that we seen is temporary. The pain that we go through in life is also temporary. Therefore God says again "do not lose heart". Keep on persevering! Holy Spirit will be able to strengthen you as you rely on Him.

Hi Guys,

This is something that blesses me, blessed me & has been blessing me!!

As I was praying for the unity of this Cell Group. I got reminded of Ps 133:1 & Eph 4:3. Indeed, it is our job to protect this unity in the Cell Group. We should not focus on the differences but the common points. Unity is the soul of fellowship and we should never destroy it. This is how God wants us to experience in this church family, a Cell Group who will love one another, and be there for one another. We will not be in division but be as a whole. This leads me to the thought of the model of our unity and it is symbolised in the Trinity - Father, Spirit, Son. This really reflects the unconditional and sacrificial love that God has for us and we are to be like Him, showering this kind of love on the people we meet.

How to grow?

Growth is easy because
It is the most natural thing
It is the will of God.

God wants us to grow, and to mature and be moulded into the likeness of Christ. However, spiritual growth is not automatic, it requires
Our desire
Our decision
Our effort
Our persistence

Like what Eph 4:14 says, we are not meant to remain as children. Therefore we choose whether to grow or not to grow. If we learn to commit ourselves into what we do, we will become whatever we commit ourselves to do. It is really our attitude, We cannot keep insisting on the benefits of ourselves, and not focus on God. It is not about self-centeredness but Christ-centeredness. Let us change our way of thinking and really grow up in the Lord and be an influential person around people.

Lets be more committed to be a real Christian, not a I, me, myself Christian.

Like what is always said, Christianity is not a religion or a philosophy, but a relationship and a lifestyle.

And this lifestyle is the lifestyle which Jesus led. It is to think of others, not ourselves!

This placing others first is the Christ-likeness we as Christians are supposed to have, and this is evident to grow. Let the Holy Spirit take the lead and help us grow! =)

Today, we met up with Pikachu, who came for Easter. The kids came after their papers. Had breakfast at Mac. Yummy! Liz's favorite! Apparently, Sue was not satisfied with the burger that she ate. She complained that it was too sweet. It was filled with honey and butter. At first, it looked really good. But after tasting it, Sue said it would be her first and last time eating that. Haha!

Anyway, as usual, after eating, the boys - Wenbin, Jehan, Jansen and Pikachu, played games on their PSP,DS and HP. Haha! It was so funny seeing the way they were competing and seeing who is the ultimate loser.

Now, Jansen and Jehan can't bear to to go home and study. They confessed that they never studied at all for they exams. Oh no. So if you see these boys, remember to encourage them to study, yeah?

We are going to have a PSP competition soon. So do ask your friends if they want to join us. And a basketball competition is coming up soon at Jehan's house. It's been so long since we engaged in exercising and working out together as a Cell Group. Another great opportunity to reach out and bring out friends as well.
